Just Let It Go: Chapter 3 Emotions

It’s been two weeks that Elmo and Julie have been living separately. Elmo calls Julie couple of times but she never answers or calls back. It was hard enough that they have been going through a rough situation in their married life but its harder that they were not communicating or talking about it.

Hindi maintindihan ni Elmo how it gotten so worse to the point that Julie doesn’t even want to talk to him anymore kung hindi lang yung annulment ang magiging topic, like it was that easy. Julie was really like that when she gets hurt she doesn’t say a thing at hindi alam ni Elmo na naiinis na pala ito. it was so hard for Elmo to read her mind and thoughts. Everything used to be so perfect but then everything just turned around and changes their perfect world together.

“kanina pa kita tinatawagan bro, what happened to you?” tanong ni Zac sa kabilang linya.

Elmo has not been going to the bar that often already dahil hindi na niya alam kung ano ba ang uunahin niya. he was busy with their family business at sumasabay pa ang away nila ni Julie.

“busy kasi lately bro, pasensya na. kamusta na ba ang bar natin?” pangangamusta ni Elmo.

“ok lang, pagbigyan mo naman ako sa isang dinner bro, need to discuss some important things with you.” hiling ni Zac sa best friend.

Wala nang nagawa si Elmo kung hindi ang um-oo dahil malaki narin ang atraso niya sa kaibigan na mag-isang nagpapatakbo ng business nila.

“at bakit niyo naman ako naisipang ilibre? Anong nakain niyong dalawa?” tanong ni Julie.

Nica and Zac invited her for a dinner out at hindi narin siya tumanggi because these past days have been very busy for her. she just currently got promoted sa work niya and things are so busy sa office tapos the issue with Elmo. ayaw na sana niyang pag-usapan o isipin ni Julie ang tungkol sa bagay na iyon pero hindi talaga maiwasan.

Magtatanong pa sana si Julie nang mapatigil siya when she saw the man approaching their table.

“please don’t tell me you invited him?” tanong ni Julie kila Zac pertaining to Elmo na palapit na sa table nila.

Hindi naman nagulat si Elmo nang makita si Julie, he partly had the feeling na darating ang araw na iyon. He will not deny that he was relieved to see her pero hindi rin niya masabi sa sarili na masaya siya because he knows where this will be heading.

“I see you have little surprise for me.” sabi ni Elmo as he took the seat beside Julie. wala na
siyang choice that was the only seat available so saan pa ba siya uupo.

Tahimik lang si Julie and she was just so upset sa mga kaibigan. She can’t believe they set her up lalo na at ayaw pa niyang makausap si Elmo.

“Seriously guys you both need help. Kailangan niyong mag-usap. Sorry we had to do this but we have a proposal to make.” Sabi ni Nica.

Elmo and Julie just looked at her seriously waiting for her next statement.

“may kakilala kami isang magaling na marriage therapist. Zac and I think it would be best for both of you to undergo marriage counseling.” Nica added.

“Marriage counseling? I appreciate the effort a lot pero hindi ako ang dapat niyong tanungin sa bagay na iyan. I have been trying my best to talk and reach out sa best friend mo (pertaining to Julie) but she never wants to talk about it so I doubt kung gusto niya mag undergo ng marriage counseling.” Elmo answered.

“how sweet right?!” Julie said sarcastically as she grew more annoyed sa naging sagot ni Elmo.

“Julie, it would be just few weeks of session, kung hindi magwork and you guys find out na its best to go on your own separate ways then so be it. Julie alam ko you’re not the type of person that would tell what she really feels. Hindi ikaw yung tipo na nag oopen up ng emotions, you were always the quite one, the one who would avoid conversations or arguments pero kasi it’s not that healthy anymore. You need to have someone to tell what you feel. Someone who will make you understand the things you don’t understand and will listen to the things you want to talk about.” Nica explained trying to convince Julie.

In the end wala rin nagawa si Julie, she just want to get things done, she is so busy with her work at ayaw na niyang makipaglabanan ng prinsipyo with her friends.

“ihahatid na kita, saan k aba tumutuloy ngayon?” Elmo offered at na una nang nagpaalam sila Zac at Nica.

“I don’t understand Elmo, how could you be so insensitive?” Julie asked frustratingly.

“You’re just too emotional and sensitive Julie.” sagot ni Elmo.

“ang kapal talaga ng mukha mo. You’re using me to excuse yourself for being an a**hole! Ibang klase ka talaga, you never fail to amaze me.” inis na inis na sabi ni Julie.

“How do you expect me to react sa lahat ng ito Julie? After everything I did for you ito lang ang magiging kapalit ng lahat?” Elmo answered back with anger in his voice.

“You did for me? teka nga Elmo, ano nga bang ginawa mo para sa akin? bigla kang nawala tapos sasabihin mong you did everything for me?”

Julie was starting to get emotional again and hindi na niya macontrol ang nararamdaman niya sa mga oras na iyon. she wanted to shout at him, she didn’t care kung nasan sila she wanted to tell him everything that was inside her pero hindi niya magawa. She can’t do it.

“Marrying you was the biggest mistake I have done in my life. I regret that I even loved you. You’re not worth everything Elmo. You’re not.” Julie said crying.

Hindi na siya napigilang umalis ni Elmo. Elmo was left there alone, thinking of everything Julie said and it felt like he was stab sa sobrang sakit ng sinabi ni Julie. After everything he sacrificed and went through still their marriage turned out to be a big mistake and loving him is something that Julie will regret for the rest of her life.

Never let your emotions drag you down. Remember to not let the situation get the best of who you are. Take control of your own emotions; never let your emotions take control of you.

“Seriously bro? I can’t believe what I’m hearing after you have defended Julie and all, now you want an annulment? What went wrong?” Erwin asked his little brother.

Elmo has always been close to his family lalo na sa kuya niya who defends him all the time. It’s not that his family didn’t like Julie but they were just shock when Elmo married Julie on such a short notice, his family met her like twice before the wedding. Eunice and Eliza who have worked with Julie likes her but never thought that their lil bro was actually in a serious relationship with her, their parents, Melisa and Edison were delighted to meet Julie but was against the sudden marriage that happened between her and their son.

“Correction, it’s not me who wants an annulment bro it’s her. She was insisting on it and she started getting emotional and all like we can never be ok again. I mean she doesn’t want to talk about how it gotten out of our control, she doesn’t even want to talk about the situation she just wants an annulment that’s all she ever wants to talk about.” Elmo said with a bit of disappointment in his voice.

“Elmo what do you expect? She’s a woman nature na naming mga babae ang maging emotional. I mean who wouldn’t get emotional when your marriage is going through something like this? Do you expect her to be happy and all?” react naman ni Eliza Elmo’s eldest sister.

“no! I don’t expect her to be happy about this, I myself am not but I expect her to be more considerate and more open minded about our situation.” Elmo said in defense.

“you know what bro? I think it’s best for both Julie and you to have that time to sit down and just talk. Talk about anything, your feelings, your thoughts talk about just everything you guys can talk about or better yet remember the first magical moment you had with her. Talk about how you guys fell in love with each other. It might help bring back the emotions and feelings you have for each other.” Eunice suggested.

Elmo reached for the light and suddenly the room glowed in brightness. That was the time Julie found out that they were actually in the kitchen. It was a well-equipped and designed kitchen, design modernly. If only Julie was not aware that Elmo was the owner of the house iisipin niya na isang chef ang may ari ng bahay na iyon.
“So what do you think? Siguro if my room is not my favorite part of this house it would actually be the kitchen.” Elmo said as he was still holding Julie’s hand.
“That never crossed my mind. I mean for a man like you kitchen was like something far from what I imagine would be your favorite part of the house.” Julie said amused.
“Well Hon let me show you why I love being here. I hope you’re hungry because you’re in for a great treat.” Elmo answered as he let Julie sit in a bar stool then started preparing.
Elmo cooked his specialty for Julie, a pasta dish and also made a vegetable salad with a simple yet delicious desert. Everything was really delicious and Julie couldn’t help but be amazed how Elmo cooked that good.
“You should build your own resto, I’m sure to be the first customer.” Julie said jokingly with a bit of seriousness.
“nah, sabi ko noon the only girl I will cook for besides my mom and my sisters would have to be my wife. The woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.” Elmo said with that teasing smile looking at Julie.
Muntik nang mabulunan si Julie sa narinig, she wasn’t sure kung kikiligin ba siya or what. She was just speechless so she just gave out a smile.
“I don’t mean to scare you, I’m just saying. Bata pa lang ako I love eating sobra. I guess as my soft side, I would always accompany my mom in the kitchen whenever she would cook for us or kahit yung yaya namin. I love being in the kitchen watching them cook and taste testing the dish before they serve it. That I think develop my love for food. Until one day I tried cooking baked macaroni and everyone liked it except my dad. I doubt hindi niya nagustuhan yung lasa I guess what it actually mean is he didn’t like the idea of me cooking.” Elmo explained.
Tahimik lang si Julie as she was watching him tell the story of his life. She would have never thought how she grew so interested with Elmo’s life ganong kakakilala lang niya sa kaniya.
“ at first I didn’t get it I mean I was just cooking wala namang masama sa pagluto. I was hurt when he didn’t acknowledge my talent in cooking. Narealize ko dun that I was indeed in love with cooking. I wanted to become a chef pero para sa papa ko, it was one profession he couldn’t imagine his son to be. Being the bad boy or pasaway that I am pinagpilitan ko ang gusto ko. I told him I want to take up culinary in college pero hindi siya pumayag. He told me wala akong makukuha sa pagluluto, that I will never make it big in the culinary world. He discourage me at sobrang pinababa niya ang tingin ko sa isang chef. Yung una hindi ko matanggap kasi hindi ko maintindihan. I was forced to do his desires because I was just a college student back then ano bang magagawa ko? he finance my studies and where will I get money to enroll in a culinary school if I don’t have a job and the only way I could pursue my love for cooking is when I find a job of my own and be able to finance my studies. I took up a business course in college as preparatory for me holding our business. Little by little I understood what my dad’s plans were. He made me forget culinary, how I love food and cooking. Unti-unti kong nakalimutan that I wanted to become a chef because he dictated my future and being a chef was not one of the plans. Until such time that I told myself I will never become a chef, I was discouraged and I doubted myself if I really have the talent. So I told myself that the only people I would cook for are my love ones, those people that will understand everything and appreciate it.”
“then why did you cooked for me?” tanong ni Julie.
Julie didn’t know how she would react to the story of Elmo. parang ang bilis bilis lang ng mga pangyayari and she can’t believe how Elmo opened up almost everything about his life just like that. Napapatanong siya sa sarili niya kung anong meron siya why he did it or what was so special about her that Elmo was able to do what he did.
“to be honest, hindi ko din alam kung baki. Don’t get me wrong I don’t regret doing this, its just that for a guy like me I don’t really believe in love at first sight. Do you?” balik tanong ni Elmo looking at Julie.
That look makes Julie blush at hindi niya iyon maiwasan. She just couldn’t believe how good looking he was and how his eyes say so much with just that look.
“ha? love at first sight? I don’t think there is such a thing like that, attraction yes I do believe you can be attracted to someone you just met but not love.” Julie answered but there was something so uncertain inside her doubting her own answer.
“you got that right but why do I hear a bit of doubt in your voice?” Elmo said teasing Julie.
This just made Julie laugh but inside her she felt suddenly nervous. How could this man read her thoughts?
“so could you honestly say you were attracted to me?” biglang tanong ni Elmo while Julie was still laughing.
When Julie heard that question napatigil siya sa pagtawa at napatingin kay Elmo. She saw how serious Elmo was looking at her and was actually moving his face closer to her. A lot of things were going on inside Julie’s mind that very moment, she can feel the shiver at the same time the loud beating of her heart as Elmo shifted his gaze from her eyes to her lips. She felt the warm hand of Elmo caressed her check and moving closer to close the distance between their faces. Hindi na alam ni Julie ang gagawin, she grew so weak to fight her mind and she was over powered by the situation, by her own desires. She closed her eyes as they shared a sweet kiss.
The kiss was slow and sweet at first until Julie felt Elmo’s desires rise giving Julie a more passionate kiss. This made Julie more excited than she ever thought she would be. She was never the type of girl who would kiss a man on their first meeting but there she was kissing this man she just met. Their desires were so powerful that their hands started moving from all the places, caressing each other’s bodies. Elmo was trying to fight it, he move to kiss Julie’s neck and ears as he whispered.
“honey, I can’t fight it anymore. I want you so bad…”

“earth to Elmo? bro ok ka lang?” Eunice asked.

Elmo was shocked that he got lost in his thoughts.

“I’m… fine.. I guess.” Ang naging simpleng sagot ni Elmo.

“Elmo do you still love your wife? Do you still love Julie?” Eliza asked her brother seriously.

“I honestly don’t know… I thought I love her the very first time I met her but now… I don’t know.”

So was its really love at first sight or just a mere attraction that brought Julie and Elmo together?

Lust is a strong emotion that could be equally strong as LOVE but what is equally strong does not mean being a like. Lust no matter how strong it is could never amount or be the same as LOVE.

Nakakaintriga ba ang a/n or quote ko? haha.. well salamat sa mainit na pagtanggap niyo sa FF na ito kahit na up to now I’m still not that certain about the story.
Well I guess in this chapter na open up na yung topic of LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. So feel free to comment or send your reaction with regards to this topic. I would really love to hear from you my readers. My own thoughts about this topic will be explained on the future chapters.

yes it is indeed MAGIC. nahihirapan din po ako ate sa story, a part of me is in doubt how such a beautiful relationship or love end just like that. it has to be something and dun ako in doubt if the story will give justice to how it is to actually fall out of love. hay gulo ko lang ate. haha. =)

“Whaaaat?!? You and Elmo is having an annulment?” gulat na gulat na tanong ni Lisa ang pinsan ni Julie at best friend din.

“yan na nga bang sinasabi ko Julie eh parang kailan lang ang saya-saya niyo pa ngayon magpapa-annul na kayo ng kasal. How could that possibly happen?” react naman ni Nica ang best friend ni Julie at Lisa.

“Nicz ano bang tanong yan? Kasalanan mo toh eh, kung hindi mo sana pinakilala sa pinsan ko yang babaerong kasosyo ng boyfriend mo d hindi sana nagkakaganyan ang pinsan ko.” Pag-sisisi ni Lisa kay Nica.

“wait! Ako? Ako pa ang may kasalanan ngayon? who would have thought ba that Julie would fall for that Elmo?!” sagot naman ni Nica.

Tila naman dun lang narealize ni Julie ang pag-aaway ng dalawa. They were out on a dinner in their favorite restobar. Si Julie ang nag invite because she just want to tell her friends about getting an annulment soon.

“pwede ba wag kayong mag-away?! no one should be blame but me. naniwala ako sa babaero at irresponsableng lalakeng iyon. napaka- childish niya, wala na siyang inintindi kung hindi ang barkada niya,ang pakikipag-party at ang pang bababae!”inis na inis na sabi ni Julie.

“Seriously Julie?! remember the first time you saw Elmo?” Lisa ask as they all recalled that very exact moment.

It was Friday night when Nica invited Liza and Julie to the opening of Zac’s bar. Zac is Nica’s boyfriend and apparently Elmo was a co-owner of the bar. Julie was never the type of girl who would party every Friday night or hang out with friends in a bar since she was very devoted and busy with her work in an advertising firm. Who would have ever thought that night would change her life and the way she see it.

“so you’re really coming sa opening party ng bar ni Zac?” hindi makapaniwalang tanong ni Lisa.

“yup you heard me right pinipilit kasi ako ni Nica, magtatampo daw at baka kung ano pang masabi nun.” Sagot lang ni Julie.

“great! Sabay na tayong pumunta dun Couz, who knows baka makilala mo na ang iyong prince charming dun db?” asar ni Lisa sa pinsan.

They practically grew up together in one subdivision kaya naging malapit silang dalawa though they took different course in college sabay naman silang nag graduate at same school pa. Nica on the other hand is their high school friend pa at dahil sa closeness nilang tatlo they treated each other like sisters. They all have different personalities at si Julie yung tipong pinaka tahimik at seryoso pag dating sa halos lahat ng bagay.

Sabay silang dumating sa opening party ng Bar ni Zac, she was wearing a simple party dress that showcased her pretty face and body. She carries herself very well kaya naman well praised siya when it comes to her work. Kahit maraming lalake ang nangliligaw sa kaniya she don’t mind them dahil busy siya sa work niya and very high ang standards niya when it comes to men.

“I can’t believe na pumunta ka, thanks.” Bati ni Nica kay Julie at nagbeso sila.

“buti na lang at hindi ako ganon ka busy sa work so I decided to go.” Nakangiti namang sabi ni Julie.

“are you girls having fun?” biglang dating ni Zac at umakbay kay Nica. “oo nga pala girls I want you all to meet my partner sa bar na ito, a very close friend Elmo Magalona.” Proud na pakilala ni Zac sa best friend na si Elmo.

Yes he is indeed a Magalona, one that came from an elite family with parents, who are well known artist and businessman, plus a brother who is a famous photographer and two sisters who are both well known in the field of fashion and showbiz. Being the youngest among four sibs Elmo was the one commonly called the black sheep of the family, the one who does not have clear directions of how he wants his life to be. He was one major bully in high school and in college he got the title of being the chick magnet but the heart breaker as well.

So how did they fell in love with each other when they were the complete opposite of each other?
Elmo offered his hand one by one to the ladies and nakipagbeso din but he suddenly stop when he was about to greet Julie who was giving him that look, a look that was like reading his thoughts, interpreting his actions.

“What’s wrong with this girl? Sa lahat ng babaeng pinakilala sa akin she seems to be the first to give me that kind of look.” Nasabi ni Elmo sa sarili as he look back at Julie intensely trying to show her that he was not actually being intimidated with the way she looks at him.

“hi, heard a lot about you, finally nakita na kita in person.” Julie said and offered her hand because it looks like Elmo got lost in his thoughts.

Tila doon lang narealize ni Elmo ang nangyari, what the hell was wrong with him at sino ba ang Julie na ito that she seemed to make him feel so conscious all of a sudden. He accepted Julie’s hand and apologies for his acts.

“I’m sorry; you really captured my attention with your beautiful eyes. Never thought I could feel so lost with your gaze. Zac, never mentioned that he has a friend as beautiful as you, if this is just a dream then I never want to wake up. I just want to dream of your beautiful face for the rest of my life.” Elmo said with that sweet smile.

Natawa na lang sila Lisa sa naging line ni Elmo it was obviously a clear pambobola just to flatter Julie. Julie surprisingly found it cute and flattering, the fact that it came from a well-known player like Elmo who must have dated hundreds of girls already. May short background na si Julie of who Elmo is because in advertising it was normal for her to get to work with commercial models, actresses and artists. Julie met Elmo’s sisters Eliza and Eunice several times already.

Julie was never really used to parties such as this one but met several popular people whom she already worked with so she had short conversations with some of the guests every now and then. She decided to take some break from all the noise and breath some fresh air for a while. She found herself just outside the bar. Just a few minutes a man sat beside her at the bench where she was sitting.

“You know it’s not safe for someone like you to be sitting here alone. you should just have asked me to accompany you instead of going here outside alone.” the man said as he continue to gaze at her.

“so now I can see, this is how you actually get girls don’t you?” diretsong tanong ni Julie sa katabi.

“must I be offended with that question?” the man replied with a serious tone.

“it really depends on how you take it. I mean it could be just an ordinary question I asked out of curiosity.” Julie answered in defense still not looking back at him.

After a minute of silence Julie felt a warm hand hold her hand.

“Do you want me to answer that curiosity?” the man said now in a teasing voice.

“and how will you do that?” balik tanong ni Julie as if challenging him.

“Come with me and I’ll show you.” the man insisted with that smile that was teasing her while still holding her hand.

They are now facing each other and staring eye to eye. This was so not normal for Julie but she surprisingly loved how it felt, actually flirting with a guy she just met a few hours ago. He was different, she met a lot of good looking guys before but he was different. He was the only man who gave her that look that was melting her heart, the smile that makes everything stop, the stare that makes her feel they’re the only ones in this world. He sure was different that made him uniquely special.

“What makes you think that I’m coming with someone like you?” Julie asked teasing him back.

“I’m not just that someone Julie Anne, I’m the ONE. So let me prove it to you honey.” The man answered back in return giving Julie that smile that almost made her heart burst into kilig.

Hindi napigilan ni Julie mapangiti at kiligin sa sinabi nito sa kaniya and even called her honey. She was no longer aware how she got inside his car and left the party without even telling her cousin and Nica. They just left together and the man drove away from that place quickly.

It took them some minutes before they reached the man’s house and Julie couldn’t believe herself being in that man’s place when she hardly even know this man. There was something in her mind that was telling her that this was wrong but her mind was being over powered by her heart she didn’t even made a move when the man suddenly hugged her from behind.

“I lied; this isn’t actually how I win a girl’s heart. Would you actually believe me if I tell you that you’re the very first girl who stepped foot on this house?” the man said, still hugging Julie and whispering in her ears.

It sort of tickled Julie but it felt so good, a feeling that she can’t even bring herself to protest.

“so bakit mo ako sinama dito?” Julie asked as her words coming out almost like a whisper.

“Because you’re different Julie, you’re not like those girls so I think it’s just right you be treated differently Honey.” The man said in a soft tone then planted small kisses on Julie’s neck.

This made Julie shiver and she has to stop the man but she can’t stop herself from enjoying the kisses for it felt so good and magical, if that’s how it should be termed.

“you need to stop doing that Elmo…” Julie uttered softly as she was still feeling that sensation as Elmo continues to kiss her neck.

“why honey are you not enjoying this?” Elmo asked again in a teasing voice and continued kissing her.

“Elmo… this is happening too fast, you have to stop.” Julie said trying to stop Elmo from what he was doing but still feeling that sensation.

“sorry honey, I think we should take it a bit slow. Come I’ll show you around.” Letting go of his hug and holding Julie’s hand as he slowly pull her to show her around.

Hindi pa magawang maglakad ni Julie ng maayos after what happened but she still managed to walk slowly as Elmo was holding her hand leading her in a room. Everything was dark so Julie held Elmo’s hand tighter. Hindi alam ni Julie kung anong nasa kwartong iyon. She was not even sure kung anong plano ni Elmo, she was thinking of running away, away from that place but she didn’t even know where the hell she was. She just went with this man not even minding where Elmo brought her.

“it’s okey honey don’t be scared I promise I won’t hurt you.” Elmo said to make her feel more relaxed.

Julie was lost in her thoughts as the incident on how she met Elmo came back to her mind.

“so mind telling us what happened that night you and Elmo got lost in the opening party ng bar nila ni Zac?” Lisa asked again.

This suddenly brought Julie back to the present.

“ha?” she just let out that simple question.

“it’s been a year but still up to now you never told us what happened that night.” Si Nica naman ang nagcomment.

“that night? That night was so magical, it was something I never thought would happened in my life.” Julie answered as she tried to recall that one magical night she and Elmo shared.

“There are just moments in our lives when we can’t explain how exactly we feel. Sometimes it just feels so good that we can’t even find the right words to describe how we feel or even how it felt. We just know deep down inside even if it happened a long time ago, still that moment was MAGICAL. “

So here goes the first chapter of my 8th FF. I really can’t count how many times I have already retyped this chapter and still have that feeling that it was no good at all but in the end I still decided to finally put this one up now so I can hear from all of you what you think of the story so far and if it’s interesting enough for me to continue this FF. thanks everyone. =)
